System components

System components

Five components, none optional, each with a distinct function and coverage rate.

01

Penetrating Sealer Primer

A high-polymer acrylic copolymer resin emulsion classed as a specialist waterproofing material.

A high-polymer acrylic copolymer resin emulsion classed as a specialist waterproofing material. Once cured over the levelling layer it forms a dense film that slows moisture loss and maintains good curing conditions. Suitable over natural stone, aggregate, limestone, cementitious surfaces, concrete, render and firebrick.

Characteristics
  • Fast drying with high penetration
  • Bonds in both directions; alkali and water resistant
  • Water-based, safe and non-toxic
  • Particularly suited to under-cured levelling layers
Reference
Coverage0.1–0.15 kg/m²
Packaging18 kg / pail
02

Pigmented Base Coat

A single-component coating of water-based polymer and selected pigment, ready to use from the pail.

A single-component coating of water-based polymer and selected pigment, ready to use from the pail. Good workability, cures directly after roller application, and forms an elastic, high-strength, durable film with a high sheen.

Characteristics
  • Improves opacity
  • High penetration and sealing capability
  • Strong adhesion to cementitious surfaces
  • Suits alkali sealing on new and existing high-end substrates
Reference
Coverage0.2–0.3 kg/m²
Packaging18 kg / pail
03

Stone-Effect Coating

Produced using an advanced granulation process, a single product contains five or more distinct colour particles.

Produced using an advanced granulation process, a single product contains five or more distinct colour particles. Sprayed in one pass, the particles merge into a film reproducing the appearance of natural granite, with genuine relief, a coarse tactile finish and rich colour.

Characteristics
  • Over 90% visual match to natural granite
  • Tightly controlled particle size and colour consistency
  • Reproduces the natural veining and texture of high-grade stone
  • Dense, hard film with water and alkali resistance
Reference
Coverage0.9–1.2 kg/m²
Packaging20 kg / pail
04

Clear Topcoat

A water-based acrylic resin synthesised with silane and nano technology, forming a dense, transparent and tough film.

A water-based acrylic resin synthesised with silane and nano technology, forming a dense, transparent and tough film. Durable against weathering, water and staining, easy to wash down, and gives lasting protection to the coating below.

Characteristics
  • Improves stain and weather resistance of the coloured layer
  • Balanced hydrophobic and oleophobic behaviour with excellent self-cleaning
  • Excellent resistance to water whitening
  • Available in gloss or matt to suit the design
Reference
Coverage0.1–0.15 kg/m²
Packaging18 kg / pail
05

Joint Coating

A dedicated coating for setting out joints within the stone-effect system.

A dedicated coating for setting out joints within the stone-effect system. Divides the elevation into panels of the specified shape and size, improving both the realism of the finish and the overall composition of the facade. Formulated from pure acrylic copolymer resin with high-durability titanium dioxide and imported pigment.

Characteristics
  • Improves the realism of the stone-effect finish
  • Excellent adhesion and opacity
  • Outstanding weathering, water and alkali resistance
  • Flexible and crack resistant; water-based; colour to order
Reference
Coverage0.20–1.30 kg/m²
Packaging18 kg / pail
Colour range

Colour range

A single panel can carry white, black, grey, orange and rust particles simultaneously, and colours can be adjusted to the design. Final colour should be confirmed against a site sample panel.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does stone-effect coating compare with real granite?
Visually it reaches over 90% match. The main differences are weight and cost: a coating needs no cladding support structure, which substantially reduces structural load and installation cost, and avoids the environmental impact of quarrying.
What layers make up the complete system?
Seven layers: substrate, levelling, penetrating sealer primer, pigmented base coat, stone-effect coating, clear topcoat and joint coating. The joint coating divides the elevation and is key to the realism of the finish.
How long does the full sequence take?
It is governed by recoat intervals: 8 hours after levelling, 4 hours after primer, 8 hours after base coat, and 24 hours after the stone-effect coating. In normal weather a single elevation takes four to six working days.
Can colours be specified?
Yes. We recommend producing a site sample panel for client and supervisor approval before proceeding, which then serves as the reference for handover inspection.
